Itinerary

  • Upon arrival at Edinburgh Airport or train station, you will be transferred to the tour hotel. Accommodation and breakfast at InterContinental Edinburgh the George, Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel or similar.

  • After enjoying our breakfast, we will take a half-day excursion including entry to Edinburgh Castle. In the afternoon, we will have free time to visit the elegant 18th-century Georgian New Town and the historic Old Town. Edinburgh is considered the second most visited city in the United Kingdom after London and has also been the seat of the Scottish Parliament since 1999. Accommodation and breakfast at InterContinental Edinburgh the George, Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel or similar.

  • We will begin this tour with a drive north from Edinburgh where we will see the famous Forth Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that offers stunning views of the Firth of Forth. We will continue our journey through the Kingdom of Fife en route to St. Andrews, the birthplace of world golf and home of the University of St. Andrews, the oldest university in Scotland, where Prince William and Kate Middleton studied. We will admire St. Andrews Cathedral and St. Andrews Castle from the outside before continuing to the coastal city of Dundee, where we will have free time for lunch at one of its local restaurants. In the afternoon, we will head north to Glamis Castle, the family residence of the Queen Mother and the birthplace of Princess Margaret, sister of Queen Elizabeth II. This magnificent fortified castle, with later additions that turned it into a stately home, will captivate us with its history and beauty. We will enjoy a guided tour of its different rooms and gardens. Dinner, bed and breakfast at Ardoe House Hotel & Spa, Thainstone House or similar.

  • After breakfast we will take a panoramic tour of Aberdeen, Scotland's third largest city, also known as the "Granite City" due to the abundance of this material in its buildings. We will admire the imposing Aberdeen Cathedral, the prestigious University of Aberdeen and its lively Union Street shopping street. We will leave for the Speyside region, known as The Malt Whisky Trail. Famous for its high concentration of high quality distilleries located along the River Spey. Here we will stop for our first tasting in one of them. Afterwards and before reaching Inverness, we will make a brief stop in Carrbridge. A small town located in the Cairngorms National Park where we will be able to admire its famous 18th century packhorse bridge and the River Dulnain meandering through the landscape. In Inverness, we will make a brief introduction to this city to learn about its history and most emblematic places. Dinner, bed and breakfast at the River Ness Hotel, The Kingsmills Hotel, Leonardo Hotel Inverness or similar.

  • After breakfast we will visit Culloden Battlefield, the scene of the last Jacobite rising in 1745. At the Battlefield visitor centre we will learn in depth about the history of this event and its impact on Scottish history. On the way to Elgin we will make a short stop to admire Sueno’s Stone. A huge Picto-Scottish cross slab, the tallest surviving in the country, at approximately 6.5 metres high. We will then arrive in Elgin, in the heart of the Speyside region and famous for its historical heritage. We will visit the ruins of its majestic Cathedral, considered one of the most important in Scotland. During our stay in Elgin we will enjoy a unique visit to Johnstons of Elgin, Scotland’s last vertical weaving mill. Here we will discover the processes behind their luxurious Cashmere and Merino wool designs, followed by a traditional Afternoon Tea including a selection of sweet and savoury treats and a choice of speciality tea or coffee. On the way back to Inverness we will make a short stop at Nairn beach. This village is a popular holiday destination for families in Scotland and is located on the Moray Firth, with a bit of luck we will have the opportunity to see Highland wildlife, including dolphins and minke whales.   • We'll start the day with an exciting cruise on Loch Ness, departing from the port of Dochgarroch. We'll arrive early to have the chance to see the adorable Highland Cows, a breed native to Scotland known for their long, thick fur that falls over their faces like a fringe. These cows graze around the harbour during certain months of the year, providing a picturesque spectacle. During the cruise, we'll enjoy panoramic views of the loch and its surroundings, including the imposing ruins of Urquhart Castle. Keep your eyes peeled for a glimpse of Nessie, the legendary Loch Monster. After this relaxing cruise, we'll head to Fort William, known as the capital of extreme sports and outdoor activities in Scotland. Here we'll stop for lunch and have the chance to see Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the whole of the United Kingdom. Our next stop will be the famous Ben Nevis Distillery, which was licensed in 1825 and where we will once again enjoy the unique flavour of this Scotch whisky. We will then drive through the Glencoe Valley and its dramatic mountain scenery to reach our hotel. Dinner, accommodation and breakfast at Forest Hills Hotel and Resort, Lodge on the Loch or similar.

  • On our last day, we will enjoy the fresh air and scenery of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park as we drive through them to Glasgow. Finally, we will arrive in Glasgow, Scotland's largest city. During the panoramic tour, you will be captivated by its Victorian architecture and unique charm. Affectionately nicknamed "Glasvegas", this city offers a perfect mix of culture, shopping, gastronomy and nightlife. We will enjoy its green spaces, its famous shopping street Buchanan Street and pass by its impressive Gothic-style Cathedral before arriving in Edinburgh. Accommodation and breakfast at Novotel Edinburgh Centre, Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel or similar.
